PROFESSIONAL HELP FOR THE PERSONAL TOUCH

“Away with the burgundy!” commanded the client. “Green, yellow and blue are my favourite colours.” Thus instructed, designer Alexi Sugden set out recently to amend the look of a rented Victorian house in Pimlico for an American executive with definite ideas on making a furnished place a home for her three-to five-year assignment.

Working together, designer and client brought those favourite colours to the major Pimlico rooms, using fabric and accents to put the Clients’ personal stamp on furnishings selected by the property’s owner. They brightened up the sitting room with yellow and blue flowered chintz draperies, over white net curtains in a swaged lace pattern. Green covers updated the dining room chairs, and small-print blinds cover the windows and doors in the basement rooms....
