Susan & David
Lewis were on the verge of giving up house-hunting when
David spotted a property on the web.
An
initial viewing of the new property revealed that, aside
from the bathrooms needing
attention,
the place had been
newly painted and the kitchen recently renovated. "I
knew we couldn't take too much on in terms of renovation..." explains
Susan
The
couple recruited Alexi Sugden from Egerton Designs to implement
the redesign of
their
new home. "I like to
keep things simple and efficient." explains Susan. "I
had definite ideas how I wanted the rooms to look, and Alexi
took it from there, organising the builders, bathroom fitters
and accessories."
In
the ensuite Alexi felt the use of glass was going to be
very important to break up the expanse of white. She chose
some ordinary green glass from a factory, which was treated
so it could be applied to the shelves, bath panel, vanity
unit and walls. She then designed the cabinets to fit perfectly
in place, giving the room ample storage. Such was the attention
to detail that cabinet doors were even painted in a colour
lifted from the floral Brunchwig et Fils shower curtain.
